Step-by-step instructions on what will help grow the roots of your Bonsai.
Stay Rooted
The first step to take on your journey of how to grow your bonsai is making sure you choose the right soil. This soil needs to be the kind that includes Akadama, Pumice, or Lava Rock so that it’s well drained.
Second step is that you are watering it correctly by checking the top soil making sure it’s slightly dry and not fully wet. Another part of this step is making sure it’s getting the appropriate amount of sunlight which is approximately around 4-6 hours of direct sunlight.
Third step is making sure you are using a balanced bonsai tree fertilizer. You want to fertilize your bonsai every 2 to 4 weeks in the spring and summer. In the winter and fall you do not need to do it as frequently.
Last step is making sure you are repotting your bonsai with fresh soil between 1 and 3 years. This is to ensure your bonsai it continuing it’s growth properly and healthy.
